Das Grüningerhaus wurde um 1867 in Blumberg auf dem Schlackebugg als Bauernhof errichtet. Der Schlackebugg ist ein Abraum „Berg“ von einer alten Eisenverhüttung. Blumberg liegt am süd-östlichen Rand des malerischen Schwarzwaldes, nahe des Rheinfalls und Bodensees.
